The modern-day Shiba Inu breeding began with the crossbreeding of Ishi, a dog kept deep in the mountains of Shimane, with Koro, a dog from Shikoku, resulting in Aka.
Aka was bred with Hana, a Tottori-born dog, by Hitoshi Sakaguchi (kennel name: Akaishi-so), and a child was born, Beniko. Aka was also bred with a local dog, Meigetsu, and a second Aka was born.
The cross between Aka No. 2 and Beniko No. 1 resulted in the birth of Naka No. 1, a rare breeding dog that would become the foundation of the Shiba Inu
1939: Ako Go is born and winner at the 8th NIPPO G.N. at the same year. (Wakainu class)
1948: Naka Go is born.
1949: Naka Go placed at 12th GN NIPPO Honbusho.
1950: Shiba breed restored
2010: Kabosu goes viral
